Why should I contribute?

Cane and Compass is designed to be a collective resource where Orientation and Mobility Specialists share their own creative lessons and also come to find inspiration for new lessons. There is no need to search all over the internet for ways to teach O&M skills in ways that are motivating and encouraging to your students.

The usefulness of this resource depends on the amount of ideas contributed.

More Contributions = More Creative Lessons Posted

What does it take to contribute?

When sharing a lesson it is helpful to include the following information:

• Name of lesson or idea
  • give your lesson a creative name or leave blank and I can come up with one for you
• Goal or O&M skill
• Appropriate for ages
• Materials needed
• How to teach lesson
  • step-by-step directions or short description
• Pictures, if any

Will I receive credit for my idea?

Yes, every time a new contribution is shared the heading of the post always states “Contributed by: Insert Name, Post-Nominal Initials or Titles”
